GOLLY IN THE NEWS..
Golly Goulding is currently the lead guitarist with The Paul Hayes Collection. His response to a question posed in The Daily Mail: 24 December 2013, touched on matters very close to many of us jobbing musician's heart's.
The early days of the 1960's motorways brought a vast number of accessible live venues into the rock music frame; That is; as long as they were south of Lancashire! Going east from Lancashire for 50 miles into West Yorkshire for instance, would often take the same journey time down to Birmingham et al - which was twice as far away. The M62 and others weren't built until much later.
Along with my band mates, we too did exactly what Golly and his mates did; and what with the playing, the travelling and the pumping adrenaline and what it did for a young mans' voracious appetite in those early morning hours, isn't too hard for the imagination to gather either!
