"The Abstract's were formed in late 1962 or early 1963. They were a Waterloo based group, playing at venue's, from Liverpool, Leigh, Wigan, St Helen's, Lake District, Skelmersdale even as far afield as Great Yarmouth.
Although there were a few group's arround using the same name in 1964 the name was registered to us, and still is. Having said that we have not performed since 1968.
Later we were joined by Dell Robinson who took over on the drum's for Dave who couldn't play for a while but returned later."

Hi Bill. I'm contacting you on a little bit of a mission on behalf of a group of friends called The Abstracts, whom you are probably well aware. were a North Liverpool group of the 60's. We collectively are searching for a gentleman; or his relatives (as sadly he may have passed now) called Harry Bostock. He was the manager of "The St Helen's Plaza" in the 60's.
Apparently Harry had the mind to record every group that played at The Plaza. This may or may not be so. However the lads in the band certainly believe that he recorded their show. As you can imagine they are very eager to see if these tapes still exist and try to get hold of them. Especially after they've now published their autobiography and are making plans for their 50th anniversary.
I know it's a long shot. But may be just maybe some of your members may remember Harry Bostock and have a clue that could help us track down these elusive tapes.
Love the site by the way. I'm a big Merseybeat and surrounding area music fan. Sadly I don't live in the UK anymore or I'd visit your Lankykats nights. One day maybe?
